Farmers don't really need to sell food though. They are stocking the very food they produce, only minute amounts need to be sold for the cash upkeep. Reselling is thus the only reason to sell food, amd only if you are Demo.

Furthermore, a demo farmer might also be selling down his food stock, and waiting out 3 days of turns to buy back, this is also a legitimate reason to hold turns.

I held turns and almost got stuck with no money. Got my cash with 80/79 turns yesterday. Food was too crazy earlier, I have 0 stock.

How did you overestimate everyone's finish just because Serp didn't have stock! Yeah, though, not much suspense on this one.

from the mere fact that Serp didn't buy food, he was able to deduce that the cashers bought the food; the farmers and techers sold theirs and the indy continued grabbing.

You never know when a crazy topfeed or 30 day old retal will happen. But if none of that happens, then yea I agree little supsense.

It was really unrealistic that I expected all those countries to be on maxed tech AND maxed turns, and maximized to the exact hour when to jump. :P

I agree with you on that. I'd think maybe the 3500 built acres could be worth the hit but they're not running the same strat either. #269 himself had stopped grabbing for 8 days until making this hit. He also has other retals he never took/yet to take. I think the size of Haki tempted him, or maybe he just wants to play spoiler.

Can't blame him for taking a poke at him for the grab earlier. When you make it to the top buy taking advantage of others, you gotta expect someone will try to get you back at some point to make a statement. I worry about it every set, yet understand that I'd probably do the same.

hmmm, I'm not sure what to make of that hit though. It could either be a late retal or just a fluff move because people are predicting Haki's gonna win. Well, it could just be both as well.

Depends I guess. If my set sucked and not going to finish well, I may try to hit him for helping to put me in a crappy position. If I was on top and hitting someone who topfed me earlier, I woulda hit earlier. Or if he outran me earlier after a grab and I couldn't hit back until now and we both were going to finish well, I'd leave it be. All depends on what you got to lose. He obviously doesn't have anything to lose. Lol

Did you notice that Elegantly Tasteful also hit aBSOLUTE, and that Conquerors Haki also hit Latin Reign? Meaning, I guess, they both possibly face another retal...

Or maybe played the food market just right. That's a small country packing a powerful punch with that score. In the great tech set awhile back OneMansArmy got to 38k land and finished attacking on the 2nd and I personally got to 39k land and finished attacking on the 1st. Golden Age attacked until the 5th and only got to 29k acres, and has already just about passed my score haha. Lower tech prices this set too than that one. Shameful! If I had turned that country over to Golden Age when I was done grabbing he probably could have scored 160m.

Unlikely. The only reason why oil spiked yesterday was due to the aforementioned large retals... 3 of them.

Showing the estimated finish of all the different countries just paints a huge target on them - especially if their estimated finish is 130+ mil nw, and they haven't even started jumping yet. It means they have a huge stock they haven't blown yet. Should people even be discussing/posting estimated finishing networth or rankings prior to set ending?

Probably.

Like I said earlier I couldn't buy tech for ages, and when I couldn't LG anymore I gave up on growing. Oil was 500 and I couldn't sell a thing for days. I never expected a good finish at all.

I didn't post anything like that this time, but I've definitely posted predicted numbers in the past. That said, maybe it does paint a target on some people. I know when people are talking up my country for a win I always feel like a target is forming on my back, but that said, I think most people can look at the scores and figure who the top finishers will be anyway.

Doesnt matter if people know you're coming on top, stay well defended if you dont want it to happen.
