I just can't seem to get my jets/turrets sold for the correct amount. I got them stuck 2 days in a row last week. And now I keep selling them for way less then what I could. For example today I think I put turrets on market at 122.

I'm kinda curious how people figure out what price to sell at, altho part of me doesn't want to discuss it publicly (more fun if everything isn't just one big formula).

It seems people who are better than me make mistakes as well (for example based on EEstats NW history it looks like #175 got most of his military stuck yesterday/today)

I use a mix of EEstats market history and the in-game market news to price my goods, but I still get tech stuck sometimes. Depending on whether I need my goods sold in 12 hours or 18 hours, I price them according to the average prices. If I need them sold off quicker, price at or a little below average*. If I am going for my 18 hour bonus, I usually price a little above average*.

Another thing to watch for is changes in volumes sold each day. If suddenly more of one good is demanded and the market becomes empty of it, prices will usually rise to meet the increased demand. On the other hand, if demand suddenly falls and goods get stuck, prices will usually decrease in an effort to sell more.

*This is considering that prices are fairly stable and not crashing or rising by the $100's each day..

You could just err on the caution side and always sell lower than average Bobby. That would be preferable to having goods stuck.

BobbyATA Game profile

that doesn't seem right to me Xin. The penalty for having goods stuck isn't bad at all. Just recall and resell. And as a commie at this point in set where your bpt should be over 80 already, there are some turns each day that you just can't do all that much with (b/c you dont' have economy to just attack or build with 100% of turns) so "losing" those 4 turns isn't really that consequential...

FWIW looking at some stats over the last 24 hours here are avg price divided by max price (rounded to nearest percent):

Jets: 89%
Turrents: 92%
Biz/Res: 88%
Agricultural: 84%
Indy Tech: 89%

These numbers seem fairly similar. I'll start keeping track but if, say, there is generally a 10% gap between avg price and max price over a 24 hour period, if you can consistently sell your goods for say 5% over average, that is a nice advantage...

I could have sold some military at a higher price. At some point I decided to try to sell for $1-2 less than max and that worked well. Although I now sell for a bit less than that because prices are dropping.

Bobby, you inconvenience yourself by having to wait another 6 hours for your goods to sell, disrupting your login cycle and PS timing cycle. You might miss bonus points or slip some time on it among other things. And if you recall and sell and get that stuck again...

It sucks if your military gets stuck. It happened only once to me when trying to sell at max price but Ive missed some bonus turns because of that. So I would sell below max but I don't think you have to sell below avg per se.

Say avg is 125 and max is 150, its a good chance someone accidentally bought a few units only of the high priced 150$.

I always sell over the avg, unless it's during the crash.

If they're teching they shouldn't have been commie so long. A commie start -> reseller? ...but military prices aren't exactly crying out for resellers right now.

280 turns to convert to techer... will he be the fastest techer after converting?

would he be the fattest farmer? A farmer would be a better strategy because you produce while building.

You don't wanna convert to techer right when tech is getting ready to drop. I hope he didn't switch to techer. Also my country has officially flamed out. RIP me.

commie to demo..interesting. I can't imagine converting 30k IC to labs being a good idea. that's 250 turns @ 120 bpt and $500m which is about 5 days worth of turns. Plus I haven't taken into account the 14% loss in everything after his switch from commie to demo, that's gonna reduce his CS by 14%. Also, he's just gonna add to the tech crash if he did switch to a techer.

I didn't spy, but I imagine a Indy -> farmer strategy may make sense. Not that it is optimal, but it solves two problems

1) Farmers struggle to grow in the beginning of the set.
2) Indy's struggle in the mid set when military crashes.

If he was able to make it to 28kA without buying much indy tech (which I imagine is possible), then the conversion should only cost him the units he lost, any permanent bonuses lost and the rebuild cost (which is not insignificant as Oldman pointed out). But the rebuild cost is likely a bit less as he wouldn't have rebuilt farms (I have gained over 1kA in farms through grabs) and he was likely not fully built.

Comparing his land now to Oldman's land last set at this time Primary Cause is about 5 days ahead because of the Indy start. So if he can convert without being grabbed and acquire the tech fast enough, then it could be a viable switch. Although I have to imagine it would have been better to stay an indy or start a farmer.

If he is now teching then I think that's just crazy.

Well AndrewMose, if that's the case, then there is still the problem of buying huge amounts of Agri tech, he will need another 1 day of production if he wants to buy Agri tech (I'll assume he would sell Indy tech to supplement that).

Maybe that's why Agri tech price is rising?

134 will have to end up 10-20% larger then the Republics to compete.

I am impressed with how Narcissistic has grown the past few days when the market tanked. Even if military prices don't bounce at all he is in a good spot.

Well Andrew, military prices tanked maybe 10% (from 110 to 100), but tech (2300 -> 2100) and food (37 -> 33) price fell equally, so to everyone (that isn't a casher), it is a status quo.

The only people that are grinning are cashers.

hasn't been for me so far, There's been lots of good targets with no allies or no weapons tech. I just keep screwing up the play on my phone because I've got no time and am rushing to hit all the time. Today I think I sent 1 million less jets on a PS because of a mis touch on my touch screen and didn't notice. That's like 4 or 5 DH's now or something stupid. And today I sold max goods in tourney and forgot to log in for end of set. lmao I think I need to take a set off or something.

I'm finding this - there doesn't appear to be the glut of 1:1 jets:turret countries with no allies that there have been in previous sets (or I'm being unfortunate in trying to find them).

I'm still managing to get 3-4 grabs for 2k acres a day, which I'm happy with.
