I honestly really like the "Consecutive Login Bonus" approach.

Something to add, based on a game I played for a while with a similar system, if the player misses logging in on day, the next time that player logs in, the bonus is reduced by 1 day instead if having to start over from the beginning.

For example:

I log in for the 4th consecutive day and get my 4 turns and 32 acres.
The next day, I forget to log in and play.
The next day I log in and receive a bonus of 3 turns and 28 acres

I feel like this suggestion doesn't quite fit the bill of adding a new government, but also doesn't exactly fit into tweaking existing governments, thus I'm putting this suggestion in its own topic.

This suggestion, Enhanced Governments, introduces additional benefits and drawbacks beyond the base adjustments to the existing government types.

Enhancing your government has 2 prerequisites and a cost:

20,000 Acres
$5,000,000 Net Worth
Pay 20,000,000

Once you have enhanced your government, you can not change governments for the rest of the game unless you die. Adjusted benefits for enhnaced governments are as follows:

+5% Food Production
-3% Expenses
+1% Maximum Technology

Fascism
+25% Food Production
+60% Oil Production
-10% PCI
-10% Max Population

Tyranny
+30% Attack Gains
-15% Military Upkeep Costs

+20% Technology Effectiveness
+5% Maximum Technology

I was actually drafting something up along these lines, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to balance it out, and it would more than likely be a nightmare to code for the devs.

A lot of it involves starting at 0. And as you add benefits to your country, it increases the number of points you need to put into drawbacks for your country.

What results is a system where you could do something as simple as:

5 benefits and 2 drawbacks feels like a lot.

I feel like the -70% explore rate is not a good drawback. With 7 PS brigades. People would just stick to Monarchy until their explore rate is low enough to convert before attacking anyway, completely circumnavigating the drawback. Much like how people do all of their building BEFORE switching to Dictatorship

Combining military and market benefits seems a bit out of place. I would swing one way or the other. What you have there feels like a very good first draft for a more market-centric government that isn't Commie.

You could actually split this into 2 separate governments and rework the drawbacks.

Government 1:

3% Market Commissions
-50% to-market times
-20% food consumption
-50% Oil Production (We don't want to create FFO 2.0)

Government 2:

-15% Defensive Losses
7 Planned Strike Brigades
-20% Oil Consumption
Corruption Starts at $500,000,000

No, the purpose is more to simply create possible new avenues of strategy. Expenses, Building Costs, and Decay are great go-tos for those permanant bonuses. But I was just thinking a few new options could inspire or encourage a little deviation and feed those who want to try a little something now.

I was also thinking maybe they should make 2 separate ops for Burning/Stealing Cash/Oil/Food like, make them 6 separate ops.

I'm not out to grief netters with this. Was thinking more along the lines of stymying opposing countries during buildups to war. But I can definitely see how dedicated netters could be adversely affected.

Just sharing an interesting Idea I had for a new spy op: Ambush Trade Routes.

This op would destroy and steal a small portion of the target country's goods as they are on the way to market. Goods already on the market are unaffected. Tech on its way to market is not affected either. (We already have Commit Espionage)

Due to the small window of opportunity for this op, I'd also propose a tweak to the Market Spy op to also display if the target country's goods have made it to market yet, or if they are still en route.

8 points: Specific Industrial Production Increases (one for each type of unit indys produce).

8 points: Military Offense - Similar to investing in Defense.

I've suggested it before, but I figured I could suggest it again here since it's on topic.

Why not make "Daily Bonus Acre Increase" a permanent bonus to be bought with bonus points? 8 Bonus Points gets you 5 additional Bonus Acres per day. Amount of bonus acres adjusts depending in the server.
