Hey all. I used to play earth back when I was a teenager and just signed up again on the Primary server. So cool to see the old screens again :)

Back in the day I was a "rainbow" player in that I would just buy and build whatever. I had tons of playing that way and it was until my last game or so where I learned of the strategies.

Anyhow after finding this site I am trying the industrialist strategy again and have a few questions:

1) I am currently producing 95% turrets and 5% percent spies. I have no jets, tanks and troops. Should I change my percentages at some point and start producing them or do I buy them on the market?

2) On turns where I don't have enough money to build, i have been cashing to get money then I'll go back to building. Is this correct?

I'm sure I'll have more questions along the way but that should keep me straight for now.

As far as money goes, I sell all that I am able to on the market but still will run into the situation where I don't have enough money to build my maximum buildings per turn.

you should sell 2-3 times per day.

What exactly does the 'Asking' column represent or mean?

asking is standing order(s) put by other player(s) on a price they want (usually buy on cheap and sell at high). those can be ignored unless you need quick money in few hrs and at normal price goodies might not sell as quickly as you need.

Is it ever viable to sell tanks and troops on the market?

I'm asking because I noticed that there are none available on the market. So I'm thinking either it's a good time to start producing them to sell or that it's not worth it because no one else is selling them.

Couple more questions for ya if you don't mind:

I recently accepted a defence alliance from someone who had only turrets. :O I may be mistaken, but I thought I've read before that some people have run countries without attacking. Am I mistaken? If not, what do they do with the majority of their turns?

At one point should one consider to give up on exploring and begin attacking for land? (Primary server, Communist-Industrialist)

there is no right answer when to start grabbing land, some start it after 1st batchexplore and some later or earilier.

its possible to play w/o attacking and just doing batchexplores and building up.

Are there any general attacking guides online? I did a search and didn't come up with much.

On the eestats.com site, when looking at a country's attack history it shows the "Result" column and for example it shows: 301A (600A)

I'm assuming one of them is what you the attacker gets, but not sure about the other

base land from defender and total land generated by ghost acres.

The last column on earth stats is DR. Do you know what that stands for?

diminished returns where each attack lowers returns from landgrab and eventually returns are 10 acres per attack so lower dr number is better gains attacker gets.

nope, if you get techs by buying or stealing from other countries your techallies get nothing.

oil to units is new thing introduced bit long ago to help oiler strat.

if your tech ally is your def ally then leeching can be seen as payment from providing protection to ally.

So it looks like a standard strike captures 3-8% percent of your opponent's resources. Is it know how much more a planned strike captures?

I'm wondering if it's worth it to planned strike someone if i could easily get through on a standard strike

well you send more forces with ss so you capture more but also use more oil and units.

Is military strategy tech worth buying?

I'm starting to notice i am building up a lot of money.

I have been purchasing the following tech:
Residential, Business, Weapons, Industrial and a little Spy and Warfare.

Anything else i should consider?

Alright, Marshal you've been super helpful to me this whole set, I appreciate it.

The end is near and I am no long able to stay in the top ten even after i use my turns (which is fine, i'm happy i got this high)

I'm now just wandering what the typical end game strategy is? Do you just keep attacking all along? Send all your missiles to the guy above you? keep all military or sell it? buy tech? I've also seen mentioned about stocking/de-stocking but i have no idea what that is/involves

stocking is buying bushels with excess money (keeping enough in hand to survive 2-3 days) gotten from taxes (casher) or selling (farmer, indy, oiler, techer) and putting those on market at high price (several hundred bucks) and before set ends that stock is spent on military (either public or private depends which is cheaper) until country is moneyless. depending amount of stocks and land when destocking starts.

usual way today to get high nw is to get alot (tens/hundreds millions) oil and after last turn given buy priv empty from military and put max military etc on sale at any price and then switch to mono and build 1-100 military bases and destroy rest buildings and drop land to 1-100 acres and switch to theo and recall everything on sale and use oil to generate priv market units and buy those and if some money left then spends that on public market (techs).

attacking is pointless since humanitarian range gets tighter on every turn after set has 30 turns left

As an Indy you don’t need to stockpile on the primary server. Just keep attacking until about 10-12 days left (about now), and cash turns for the remainder. Sometimes you run out of safe targets to hit earlier than that, and that’s ok.

Important thing for your strat is keeping up with your tech. You should try your best to keep these important tech levels all set long:
Indy 155%+
Bus/Res 168%+
Weapons 135-140%
If you’re falling behind, it’s better to do one less grab that day and focus on selling the extra jets to buy tech. Once your tech falls behind, it’s hard to catch back up. Stay efficient all set long.



Personally I like doing a tech start, and get all my relevant techs maxed before I grab. I’m usually 5,000 acres behind the lead when I do convert my labs to indies and start grabbing, but I make that up in no time, and usually end up way ahead by running efficiently all set long.

If you choose to tech start, I found the most effective way is to get 40bpt with 3800 labs. Tech to max your: bus/res/Indy/warfare/mil.strat/weapons
By then you have to convert back to indies and get grabbing.

-With the mil strat you get 35% more acres per grab
-that bit of warfare will provide you all the missiles you need all set long to ward off multitappers.
-the bus/res at 168% or not will keep you in positive cash flow all set long until the end.
-weapons tech is your 2nd most important tech since it allows you to send 40% less jets per grab letting you grab more and sell more to build and buy tech.
-Indy is easy your most important tech

-as the set goes on you need to start buying military tech, since your military will be so huge, you need it to lower your expenses.




It’s inefficient to sell troops and tanks, just make what you need and sell the jets/turrets only.

I usually set production all set long to:
10%spies
8% tanks
2% troops
And 80% jets/turrets

That will give you a good enough spal to not be losing tons of spies to failed ops, and have more tanks than most everyone in the game to protect from ABs.


Do that and you can easily PS 3-5x a day all set long and grow huge.
