I would think this is a matter of whether or or not the determination of inactive is derived from player communication or in-game evidence.

For example, I do not feel it's unethical attack a country because one notices unchanged numbers for a period of time. There is still a risk/reward calculation in attacking. The inactivity may be temporary.

If the announcement is made in a public forum, more of a grey area, probably unethical in the sense that it's not the same type of public information as in-game numbers.

Even at 200 BPT, you need 50 turns to build that all up. So maybe 70-80 turns, if you have just above 100 BPT and some of it is pre-built farms, and it will cost ~2.5b cash to build. Totally not worth it anymore, in terms of the attacking country's finishing potential, especially since you'll lose maybe 2m jets in the attack itself.

Discounting the "message" sent by the double retal of course!

Welcome back to the game BobbyATA. BobbyATA had a good showing (46k land) until #177 ABed and GSed him (for double taps), and then a month later, MacXGee (#11) mass missiled him for another risky double tap.

Congrats to LATC for his second win, although a somewhat lucky one for oil prices to be staying so high throughout the reset. I've maintained (to oldman) years ago that winning the server is roughly 30% luck, you have to pick and run the right strat (indy vs farmer vs casher vs techer) from the first 100 turns, so my typical goal is to strife for the top country of my strat type. In this case, I narrowly lost to Crest(?) by 1.4m NW.

PaceBooM also self-deleted early in the reset.

I also wonder if anyone could have finished higher, but didn't because the public market ran out of food 29 minutes before the end of the reset. (My $37 food sold 29 minutes before end of reset.)

Thanks Xin and SAM_DANGER. But oil prices staying that high this set is less luck than you think, there's a reason hybrid works but not straight up oiler (and why you have to do a demo oiler). Lucky was when someone did an oil buyout a few weeks in, after that it was easy to maintain the prices. And it goes both ways, once oil starts to fade and techers stop grabbing, just jack up food prices. People panic and it cycles up. When I was retaled by serp and it's over 9000 I had like 250m bushels stocked.

And with that this strat will not work again for awhile, nor will it ever work on any big server =P
