Yes, it was changed, but I forgot when.

Perhaps.

68000 acres on 158% tech will produce about 270,000 jets/ turn x 10 days = 162,000,000 jets. 97,200,000 networth. So with only 50m stock, not possible without selling more jets. You'd need a much larger stock to cover expenses.

Chewi's expenses look pretty high here: http://primary.www.earthempires.com/oldstatus?countryid=91191

But maybe the status screen is calculating expenses with a formula that wasn't in effect at the time. Or maybe Chewi just doesn't remember how much stock he REALLY had. Or maybe something else is going on. But there's no way now to take those turns with that low of stock. :)

I got to 125m off my stock. Then needed to sell 13m net worth of jets to get to 149m. At those expenses it was still slightly profitable to use turns.

Though from the looks of my net changes I had probably a days worth of turns saved.

well let's say you run turns to jump from 60-150m NW, that will take about 550 turns with your 69k CI. Since you mentioned you sold 13M NW, that means you ran more than 550 turns. It will take an additional 80 turns to generate that 13M NW, so you probably ran something like 630 turns.

Assuming $18m/turn expense average for the 630 turns (you probably start losing money after hitting 60m NW and at 149M, you lose about $40m/turn including food expense. So $18m/turn should be a good estimate considering that expense is not linear.

So $18m*630 = $11.3b
60m bushels @ $40 gives $2.2b after tax
13m NW worth of jets @ $170 gives $3.3b after tax
Assuming you have $2b to start jumping, that only yield $7.5b. Still $3.8b short.

There're a few explanations:
a) you forgot you had more stock than mentioned
b) average expense was lower than $18m/turn (gotta be like $12m/turn)

I believe you're over estimating the expenses. I was in the green til 60m or so?

http://primary.www.earthempires.com/oldstatus?countryid=126670
You're at about -22m a turn there. I would have used about 160 turns after hitting 125m.

Also I did use indy booms while jumping.

68000 acres x 1.86 x 1.35 x 1.59 x 160 = 43,438,291 jets x 0.6 = 26m net growth

That means you had no expenses for the rest of the set. Lol

Well, most of these conversations are players arguing they'll finish lower than everyone expects :)

These cashers just keep grabbing and getting fatter which isn't gonna do any favors to the food prices which you know might be kind of helpful for techers destocking and which will depress everyone else's scores (except for that one farmer)

Does anyone know what the current expenses formula is?

I think this one is still correct:

((Troops * .11) + (Jets * .14) + (Turrets * .18) + (Tanks * .57) + Spies) * MilTech% * (1 + Networth/40000000) * GvtBonus * MilBaseFactor * (1 - BonusPtsBonus)

I get the wrong expenses value with that formula and it's off by quite a bit.

Maybe I calculated it wrong, but I got different numbers trying to use that formula also..

You're right, it is wrong. Should be a multiplier of (1+NW/200M) instead of 40m I believe. Does that work?

EDIT:
That worked! I am only off by about $900 total now, but I will assume some rounding rounding errors are to blame. I forgot I had military on the market as well which doesn't show up in the adviser page, but it is still calculated into your costs per turn until sold.

Buy 100k troops. Check change in Expenses (and NW). Repeat for each unit type.

I'm not actually sure how bakku hit 165m. My country was pretty much at the break even point for expenses and he had less land. Unless the expenses shown in old ops is not correct.
