if you want to talk about causes then it is impossible to blame one aspect. poverty, culture, all that fluff plays a part. Poverty is a big problem but some cultural values dont exactly bode well for a systemativ removal from poverty. blaming bad schools is scapegoating. what good teachers want to teach in a place where the kids dont want to learn and bonuses arnt there?

I'm not sure you know what you are talking about. We aren't talking about extraction. That happened incredibly fast. What we are talking about is the request to strengthen security at the embassy made well before the attack by the ambassador due to concerns about changing dynamics on the ground.

In the second link, read starting page 5 (key findings and recommendations). Specifically, Finding 3 on page 9 and Finding 5 on page 13:

OK, once you have read the background, here is the matter at hand WRT Hillary Clinton... Her claim is that these decisions have been (and were also in this case) made at the level of the regional officer (in this case Charlene Lamb). (read her statements about trust in the security apparatus and that they get it right 99% of the time). The counter claim is that this incident happened on her watch and therefore the buck stops with her regardless of where below her the decisions were being made.

Reports of "inadequate security" exist at A LOT of foreign installations run by State. State has requested, repeatedly, additional funding for security at these facilities and been denied such requests. This has led to State having a culture of reluctance to acquiesce to requests for additional security (i.e. - you'll just have to make do), which are too common to routinely respond to.

Basically, the administrations over a long time have requested additional security and Congress has never really funded at the levels requested by State or the President (regardless of party over the years).

I think, in hindsight, it is easy to conclude that State should have taken this request more seriously. But there are other situations that also should then be taken more seriously by the same standard where incidents like this have NOT occurred. So either we fund initial security at a level commensurate with the requests or we pay for "emergency" security on a more routine basis (which is actually more expensive). But holding Clinton responsible for the actions of these terrorists in this case and saying she is criminally liable is, frankly, just politics. It reflects a very narrow view of a very complex issue that has stretched across many administrations, many congresses and many Secretaries of State.

to be clear, my view isnt strictly formed around those stats as some of them are a stretch, but it is a useful info graphic to dispel some stereotypes out there.

blacks just commit more crime. weather you want to attribute that to poverty, genetics, culture whatever, that is the fact. and it is also the reason cops act differently around them. not being on guard around statistics like that is contrary to survival instincts, and it creates problems. obviously.

Any weekday you might have off, or if you work in center city, go to the northeast corner of 20th and Market Streets to the food vendor located there. A semi-crazy gentleman named Mr. Christoforos who owns a cart he calls the "Beautiful Food Cart". He serves up the most delicious sandwich ever. It's pricey, last time I was there, it was 8 bucks but almost everyone gives him a ten for it.

You'll be able to identify his cart by the extensive line waiting for those sandwiches. :) You'll also be able to smell it for quite some distance if the wind is right.

He will only sell you one sandwich, so that he doesn't run out before he gets to serve all his regulars.

He opens the stand around 11AM and is generally sold out and packing up by 2:30 - 3PM. So, try to be there just before he opens up if you don't want to wait in a long line.

He also doesn't sell any drinks, so if you want something to drink, you'll have to hit another food cart, or a local store for it.

Trust me, you won't be disappointed in the sandwich. It's got chicken that he's marinated and grilled right there on his cart that remains amazingly juicy even after grilling, it also has falafel on it as well as various greek spices, sauces and other items. Trust me, you won't want to leave it alone at any time. It's usually too big to eat in one sitting, but the whole time you're waiting for your stomach to make room for it, it sits there and croons your name saying "you know you want to stuff yourself with me, you don't have to wait until there is room, just stuff it in."

Looks to me like he was just trying to point out that SoF gained nothing by farming him and then refusing to deal with him reasonably/fairly after he demonstrated that he was capable of retaliation. Sadly, his message will be ignored.

Unfortunatly that is how untagged has always been treated on this server, going back a long while.

I was running #111. I know exactly what I was doing with running with few turrets. I expected to be farmed, and I thought that was perfectly reasonable.

What I didn't think was reasonable was people
(1) killing me for retalling hits, and
(2) killing me for me not retalling everyone equally.

I mean, come on. Since when do third parties get to dictate how I interact with OTHER countries? SOF, if I want to let certain countries hits on me go unretalled or negotiate alternative reps (which I have done successfully on multiple occasions...even with alliances like stones and laf), then I'm going to damn well do as I please without you getting to tell me otherwise.

Instead, you send a threat telling me to retal ALL hits ("or else!!"), then kill me when I hadn't even logged in for a couple days, probably because I hadn't retalled someone in that time. ::eyeroll::

I'm perfectly happy playing an untagged and doing standard retals in compliance with standard policies, but continuing to try to impose ridiculous standards on someone who is not under your power will surely drive me to suiciding your countries over and over. And you better damn well believe that I'll bring all my allies with me.
