SoF should net for one set, while getting people like aponic and chaz and ivan into beating the membership back into shape running good strats.

Meanwhile do FA fluff to get a middle set friendly maybe with laf for the following set, or a combination of smaller tags.

That way the rest of the server gets four months of breathing space.

Phelps is an exceptional swimmer from a country full of good swimmers that helped him win a good 1/3 to 1/4 of his medals (the relay races - if he was from a crap country those medals wouldn't be there).

Judging the whole sport by him is stupid. The rule of thumb at olympiac levels of skill is for a swimmer to focus in one or two races + maybe being able to do the relay races. Just like the athletics people do.

There is no need to change the sport. Infact, if some change were to be made, it should be to make it easier for those exceptional people to shine, because the whole point of the thing is to see who is the best. The olympiacs aren't a wealfare gov program, dammit!

People, less turns to play or less attacks to make = less fun as well.

Nevermind how many people get worked up about how many hits they make or civilians they kill or whatever...

There are other ways of fixing the flaws without touching turns or readiness.

I know it would likely require a lot of work on the game code, but why not just ban wars until week 6 or so?

Say, something along the lines of limiting the number of hits between tags to like 500 per week and the only way to go over it is one tag declaring war on another tag, and then you could enable that function only around week 6 or so.

New game mechanics like that could even be used to totally do away with blind sides.

The FS thing can be worked around when the clan that is doing the FS hits a bigger tag.

It goes with the attitude of the leadership, really. Some play just to win no matter what, others play to have payback, others like to have fun, others want the challenge, etc.

among the fast food chains we have here, I think BK does the best burgers. imo.

McD does awesome french fries.

A third chain (exists only here, I think) does the best milkshakes.

Too bad we can`t get the three in the same place. That would have made for something almost good...

MD kills a tag jumper without talking to RD.

Sol, during their war, topfeeds Rival. Rival does land:land. SOl retals those retals. Countries are killed.. .blah blah blah

Do those stories sound the same? Maybe I'm just confused.

don't forget they didn't do it until 2 weeks after he tagged RD

And lets not forget that RIVAL was sending FA to LAF during their war with SOL, or that SOL had been tag killed already that set, making the whole SOF fs on it look petty and pointless.

There were fast kill runs before, of course, but they are more common now.

And in earth2025 we were happy with 3 minutes kills. Now it isn`t hard to do 1 minute kills.

It is very hard to stonewall if kill runs take less than 3 minutes. Almost impossible if it takes 1 minute or less. In that case you have to be all but logged to your country.

On top of that we have those bio ops etc.

regarding the war, if it still is too early to make a call, it is easy to note and say that LAF has an uphill battle. Just check the TNW difference...

SOF has to war this set. Going from there, their possible targets could decide to preempt. Having both sof and laf lose 30 or so countries to FS in the same set could mean the difference between doing it on their own and needing to call an ally.

chances are, they'll wait, gather strength, and then strike, time favors SoF, with any decision they choose to make reguarding this set.

Timing is important. Often there is a point in a war where there is no way to turn a war around with the assets you have.

heh, this thing reminded me of a third option, something that met did in its first set way back in 2006, which would be hilarious just based on the amount of AT outrage.

SOF could also do an one or two day war on SOL/EVO to counter their FS advantage, then CF and go do their own thing in the set.

Eric171 Game profile

My take at this time is that the SOL/EVO FS momentum might put LAF in an untenable position.

If I was running SOF, I would be thinking about a couple of scenarios:

(1) FS SOL/EVO in defense of LAF, expecting to be hit by their allies (bringing in another 60 to 100 countries).

(2) leave LAF to fend for itself and FS MD/PDM or MD/bunch of other tags if PDM is pacted.

Being FS instead of doing a FS would really suck, could mean the need to call in an ally to make up the numbers...

Anyway, the SOL/EVO fs momentum makes me favor option 1 at this time...
